Similar to HMO and PPO, POS forms a group of doctors and health care providers to attend to your medical needs. However you have the option whether or not to choose a physician within the network. If you seek to consult with a physician out of the network, POS will share with your medical expenses. However expect to have high payments for coinsurance and deductibles.
